"You may beat me in a battle, but May the war fight on".. This track is not only a "Hey, i'm still here doing my thing" song.. It's a pledge to keep on progressing.. In a world filled w/ myspace rappers that never do shows or drop albums, I'm doing all I can to be on the other end of the spectrum.. By no means em I the best rapper, but I put a lot of time into my writing and so naturally I want my voice to be heard. The past year i've been doing shows regularly w/ my band "Twisted Strategies" and working on solo projects when time is allotted. My main goal w/ hip-hop is to project it to an audience an a upbeat & positive manner.. Hip-Hop is beautiful, it's a dance party, it's an art form, etc.. For me, it's somewhat therapeutic self-expression. My music is a representation of me.. Life has Ups & Downs, and so does the music. Not every song is gonna be upbeat, but getting negative energy off your chest and into a song is a positive thing. Over the past few years I feel like i've been "In a Relationship w/ Hip-Hop" She's there when i'm sad, mad, happy, and horny. This track seemed like a great way to set the tone for the album, because its letting people know that I'm in it for the long hall. It may or may not take me somewhere someday, but it'll never leave me stranded..
